(1) Thomson Reuters Foundation Rural Poverty Development Programme

This programme is for media practitioners. The funding comes from the International Fund for Agricultural Development. It’s the specialized UN agency. The programme is from the 3rd of September to the 7th of September, in Kigali, Rwanda. Participants are expected to visit these areas and report situations there to the world. (a) The applicants must be full-time journalists who fully contribute to the society and media organization.

(b) The applicants should have at least two years of professional experience to apply for this programme.

(c) The applicants need to provide two recently published works.

(d) The applicants must speak English or French.

Meanwhile, the Thomson Reuters Foundation will provide full support for journalists from African countries. The bursaries for the programme will include travel expenses (only economy class tickets), local transfer, meal, and accommodation. Applicants are required to provide the necessary documents to enter the country and as well, they will bear the cost of visa permit.

(2) The Centre for Innovative Drug Development and Therapeutic Trials for Africa (CDT Africa) MSc in Clinical Trials Fellowship

The programme provides full funding for researchers who want to come to Addis Ababa University and offer their services to the society. It is launched to support the development of therapeutic science. Applicants are expected to meet the underlisted requirements;

(i) Have a Bachelor Degree in a related medical science sphere. It includes all medical specialties, like nursing, public health and doctors. Applicants with a degree in Life Sciences may also be applicable for the scholarship.

(ii) Applicants should have relevant medical experience of two years after graduation. The experience should be related to real work with patients.

(iii) Applicants will also be required to pass an oral exam.

Meanwhile, the Center is to pay any necessary registration fee or tuition. The applicant will be provided with modest funding to support his or her researches. Any student from another country will be provided with accommodation in the dormitory of the university and net stipend 10,000 Birr.
