Universities In Nigeria: Tertiary institutions are built to produce the best brains from different fields of profession. Each Country gears towards developing their educational sector, as it is the life wire of the country. That is why in the setting up of tertiary institutions, laid down rules as set by the National Universities Commission (NUC) must be followed before seeking for license and approval.
NUC as a federal government agency is tasked with the responsibility to regulate the operation of universities in Nigeria. And in pursuant of this, from time to time they still go for inspections in schools to make sure the standard is being maintained. Before you apply for admission into any university, it is important to verify if the university has been approved by the NUC.
Presently, we have 46 licensed federal universities, 44 state universities, and 75 private universities in the country as approved by NUC. These universities and their vice-chancellors are listed below;
